Ong-Ang Ai Boon

Mrs Ong-Ang Ai Boon is Director of The Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS). She was appointed in 1982 and has since led the ABS with her extensive regulatory and operational experience in the banking industry.

Mrs Ong started her career in banking with Chung Khiaw Bank Ltd in 1969. Prior to her position at ABS, Mrs Ong was with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) from 1971 till 1981 where she held several key positions during her tenure. She was appointed Head of Projects Division of the Finance and Administration Department in 1977 and subsequently Head of the Development (Non-Banks) Division, Banking Department where she led the team for four years. After that she was Head of the Review (Foreign) Division, Banking and Financial Institutions Department before joining ABS as its Director.

Mrs Ong has a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Social Science. She also holds a postgraduate diploma in Business Admin, awarded by the University of Singapore, now known as the National University of Singapore.
